Melanie Schubert is an Australian writer of adult, young adult and middle grade works mostly in the Fantasy genre.

She has been writing musicals for the New Zealand performing arts company Gobsmacked since before its inception in 2015.

Melanie is a 2020 winner of Pitch Wars (SQUEEEE!!!) 

​

And a creator and co-host of the writing podcast Of the Publishing Persuasion.

​

In 2017, she was the winner of the New Wrinkle Publishing Competition, and is the author of the middle-grade book GREGORY AND THE GRIMBOCKLE.

​

She lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her total biscuit of a husband, and one highly opinionated little nugget dog.
